The reserve can buy this

Rule 02 of the reserve policy is scarcity: a set has to be retired, or have a published retirement date, before any fee money goes near it. 42131 clears that rule, and like every box it would be bought factory-sealed and never opened.

BrickEconomy states the set retired 18 Oct 2023 and LEGO.com marks the product page 'Retired Product'; Brickset's own Launch/Exit field shows an apparently stale '01 Oct 21 - 31 Dec 21' exit date that conflicts with both of those and was treated as a Brickset data error. Checked 12 Sept 2026.

What this box costs in trading

$37,036

of $BSTR trading volume funds one Cat D11 Bulldozer at $499.99.

  1. 2.7% of every trade reaches the fee router as creator fees.
  2. 50% of that is the reserve's share, so 1.35% of volume becomes brick money.
  3. $499.99 ÷ 1.35% = $37,036 of trading for this box.

Retail is the yardstick. A retired set usually costs more on the secondary market, and the fee split is the one published on the strategy page.
